I’m excited to finally share these photos with you! I’m really glad that I decided to jump in on this round of the One Room Challenge. I was in desperate need of motivation to get my bedroom in shape! When I started the challenge I was literally living with unpacked boxes from my move end of July and it really made me look at the space and what I own and most importantly what I needed to organize!
Many thanks to those who supported me during the challenge! To my uncle who painted, to my friends who helped validate my ideas and of course my friend Kristina who photographed the final space!
A little paint can make a big difference! The walls were painted Benjamin Moore’s Dark Harbor. A choice I lamented over for quite some time, perhaps that is another post! I also painted the trim pieces the same color that I picked up to frame my wallpaper and give it a faux moulding look. If you look closely in the mirror you can see Pacha lounging on this amazing throw!
The rug is from Rugs USA (c/o) and I absolutely adore the subtle pattern it brings to the space. The side table is from my previous apartment and was an ebay find for $50! I originally had it in my living room until starting the challenge but decided that it sat well in here and gave me some extra bedside storage. I store my sweaters in there! All of the decorative accessories above I had in my previous apartment as well but I found new ways to incorporate them! The lamp I found at a flea market in Knoxville, TN many years ago when my sister went to college there. The suitcases and glassware are all thrift store/flea market finds as well. Good design doesn’t necessarily mean extravagant prices!
I love my new duvet! I wanted something simple but with some texture and it fit the bill! The pilloe is a prototype that you may be seeing in my store soon! The headboard is old as well. I almost reupholstered this but decided in the end to leave as is! I’ve had the poster forever but it finally found a home in a frame. I spray painted it copper to add some extra interest! I also picked up the navy bed sheets and bed skirt.
I added new sets of curtains both on my windows and to serve as a closet door. I love the stitching on them!
The dresser I’ve had for a long time as well but I’ve always used it in my living room as a console. I ended up bringing it into my room as it was a tight squeeze in my living room. My favorite and only furniture purchase was the campaign jewelry armoire. I house all of my jewelry and make up and hair products in it.
I hope you enjoyed the tour of my master bedroom! I can’t wait to tackle the next room!
